Armenia's Anush Hovhannisyan among finalists of BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competiition

Armenia's Anush Hovhannisyan is among this year's finalists of BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition, a contest of classical singers.

Soprano Anush Hovhannisyan will premiere an extract from an unfinished opera by Franz Liszt which had lain forgotten in a German archive for nearly two centuries before being revived by Cambridge lecturer David Trippett, BBC reported.

Anush Hovhannisyan is Armenia's only representative in the contest.

Twenty finalists will compete for ВЈ15,000 and the Cardiff Trophy.
