The coins of kings of Sophene (Tsopk) dated to the second half of the 3rd century BC are believed to the first Armenian coins.

17 athletes to represent Armenia at world youth weightlifting championship


Armenia will be represented by 17 athletes at the world youth weightlifting championship to held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent from April 6 to 13.

Women's team

Margarita Ghazaryan (53 kg), Aghunik Hakobyan (58), Shushan Hakobyan (58), Tsovinar Kirakosyan (58), Rosalia Avetisyan (63), Sona Poghosyan (63), Tatev Hakobyan (69), Hripsime Poghosyan (69), Arevik Mirzakhanyan (69).

Men's team

Marzpet Minasyan (50 kg), David Gasparyan (56), George Yeghikyan (69), Arthur Sargsyan (69), Samvel Gasparyan (77), Hovhannes Avdalyan (85), Simon Martirosyan (94), Ashot Begzadyan (94).
