Michel Legrand to give concert in Armenia

December 21, 2012 | 13:25?†

Famous French composer with Armenian roots Michel Legrand plans to give a concert in Armenia, Yerkramas newspaper reported.

In an interview with Rostov Official, Michel Legrand said he does not manage to come to Armenia very often. Now he wants to bring his new work dedicated to the Armenian Genocide victims.

He said it would sound unusual for his fans. The title is still unclear but Legrand did not rule out it may be called ?И?Requiem to Armenia?И?.

"What happened in 1915 in the Ottoman Empire, was terrible. At the beginning of the last century, part of the Armenians suffered from the Ottomans, while others came under the communist regime. Armenian tragedy is comparable to the tragedy of the Jewish people," the composer said.
